CYCLICIOUS
A Celebration of Bicycle Transportation!
Thursday, April 10, 2008
4-6pm
Courtyard outside the Michael Hooker Research Building of the UNC School of Public Health
(on S Columbia St, across from the Health Sciences Library)
(rain location: The Lower Atrium inside the Michael Hooker Research Center)
We’re giving away a FREE BIKE to one lucky attendee!
This informational event is designed to inspire those who have been considering biking for transportation to overcome their individual barriers and get out on two wheels! We will present information about the benefits, personally and environmentally, of bicycling for transportation, how to select a bike and gear, how to navigate the Chapel Hill area safely, and ways to incorporate small daily changes that help cycling become a feasible lifestyle option. Cyclicious is timed to coincide with National Public Health Week, for which the 2008 theme is Climate Change: Our Health in the Balance. Refreshments will be provided. We’ll conclude the event with a drawing for the free bike as well as other prizes.
Cyclicious will be informal. There will be a brief opening presentation followed by the opportunity to cycle (ha ha) among the following informational tables staffed by our local experts:
-Choose the right gear
-Fix your bike
-Find your route
-Choose your bike
-Sharing the road
